1. Information we process
Account information
Your name, email address, organisation or workspace details, plan and preferences.
Service content
Test-message sender and recipient fields, subject, headers, text and HTML bodies, links, attachments and delivery metadata, so authorised users and integrations can inspect them.
Technical information
IP addresses, browser and device details, request times, authentication events, API activity, errors and feature usage used to operate, secure and improve SMTPBox.
Payment information
Payment providers may process card details. SMTPBox receives transaction references, payment status and limited billing information rather than complete card details.
2. How and why we use information
- provide inboxes, previews, search, APIs and account features;
- authenticate users and protect infrastructure;
- process subscriptions and billing communications;
- answer support requests and diagnose problems;
- prevent abuse and improve reliability; and
- meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Where UK or European law applies, our legal bases include performing our contract, legitimate interests in operating and securing SMTPBox, legal obligations and consent where required.
3. Retention and deletion
Test messages are retained according to the advertised plan—currently 7 days for Free and 30 days for Unlimited—unless deleted sooner. Account, security, support and transaction records may be retained longer for operation, fraud prevention, disputes or legal compliance.
4. Sharing and international transfers
We do not sell personal information. We may share limited data with infrastructure, monitoring, communication, authentication and payment providers that help operate SMTPBox, subject to suitable contractual protections. We may disclose information where law requires or to protect rights and safety. Where information is transferred internationally, we use recognised safeguards where required.
5. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy, or complain to a regulator. Email privacy@smtpbox.dev. We may verify your identity and authority first.
6. Cookies and local storage
SMTPBox may use essential cookies or browser storage for authentication, security and preferences. This website stores your light or dark theme choice locally. If non-essential tracking is introduced, we will provide legally required notices and choices.
7. Children, changes and contact
SMTPBox is a professional developer service and is not directed to children. We may update this policy as the service develops; the latest version and date remain here. Send privacy questions to privacy@smtpbox.dev.
